This Agreement is between Paul Hermany (Tutor, Mr. Paul), the Student, and the Parent/Guardian of the Student.
The Tutor agrees to provide math tutoring services to the Student, and the Parent/Guardian agrees to the terms below.
The goal of tutoring is to provide a supportive, professional learning environment where the student can build math skills, confidence, and independence. This agreement is intended to clarify expectations for tutoring services, scheduling, payment, communication, and student safety.
The Tutor will provide academic support in math for grades 5 - 12.
Tutoring may include the following general activities:
Homework support
Test and quiz preparation
Concept review and reteaching
Skill-building and gap remediation
Study strategies and math confidence-building
A diagnostic session is required for all grade levels. During this session, the Tutor will meet with the Student and Parent/Guardian to discuss pain points, examine learning styles, and set meaningful, realistic goals for improvement.
Letter grade improvement, test scores, and course placement are NOT guaranteed, but studies have shown students who develop healthy study habits and practice problem-solving skills with the help of a private tutor will generally see improvement over time.
Tutoring is intended to support learning and understanding. The Tutor will NOT complete assignments, quizzes, tests, or graded work on behalf of the student.

Tutoring services must be in advance or at the time of service.
Accepted payment methods include Cash, Check, Venmo, or Zelle.
The safety of the Student and trust of the Parent/Guardian is a priority.
Sessions should take place in a public location such as a library, school, or community space.
When held in a private location such as a home or office, a parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult must be present or nearby.
Sessions should be conducted using an agreed-upon platform (e.g. Google Meet, Zoom).
A parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult should be aware of when online sessions are taking place.
The student should participate from an appropriate location where they can focus and work safely.
Online sessions may be recorded only with prior permission from the Parent/Guardian and Tutor
Establishing a trusted communication channel between the Student and Tutor reinforces the notion that the Student is accountable for his or her own learning and development.
The primary method of communication between the Student and Tutor will be email, and the Tutor will communicate directly with the Student while keeping the Parent/Guardian copied/informed. If students in early grades do not have access to email communication, the Tutor will send communcation to the Parent/Guardian and the Parent/Guardian will be responsible for relaying communcation to the Student.
Text messaging may be used to discuss scheduling and payment logistics.
After each session, the Tutor will provide the Student and Parent/Guardian with a session summary.
Tutoring sessions may be scheduled individually or as recurring appointments.
Cancellations or changes to previously scheduled sessions must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled session.
Exceptions will be made for illness, family emergencies, severe weather, or at the discretion of the Tutor.
If the Student is late, the session will still end at the scheduled time unless the Tutor’s schedule allows an extension.
If the Student does not arrive or log in within 15 minutes and no notice has been provided and acknowledged, the session may be treated as a late cancellation.
If the Tutor is late, the missed time will be added to the session, rescheduled, or credited.
